Synopsis: Philippe and Marion, both thirty-fi ve years old, are a couple living in Paris. Shortly before a planned trip to Venice, they decide not to go. But they tell their friends and acquaintances that they were there.

A few weeks later, they receive photos that show them in Venice...

Very gradually, they lose touch with reality and drift apart. Marion moves out with their children, while Philippe fi nds refuge with a young Jewish man.
